Granted, tomato paste generally gets cooked into recipes that have many ingredients and flavors, so the subtleties of any particular brand may not be obvious once deployed in the usual ways.But if you were to make a taste-test comparison of numerous tomato pastes all by themselves, including national brands, supermarket chain house brands, or discount brands, I think you would find, as I have found, that Contadina is top-notch!I don’t get, though, why it is that the entire industry now includes citric acid in addition to tomatoes. Government mandate? Shelf-life extension? The single-ingredient tomato pastes of yesteryear never seemed to pose any problems.

This is a brand of tomato paste that I could get at the local grocery store. I do enjoy it being available on Amazon for same-day delivery when I’m not able to make it to the store. It taste great and it arrived with no dents in the can which is something that is important with canned goods.
