I’ve been using Kikkoman Japanese Noodle Soup Base for quite some time now, and it has become a staple in my home. This soup base brings authentic Japanese flavor to a variety of dishes, and I can’t imagine my pantry without it.Pros:Rich, Authentic Flavor: The soup base has a deep umami taste that enhances any dish. It’s perfect for making traditional noodle soups that taste like they came from a Japanese restaurant.Versatile Usage: Beyond soups, it’s great for dumplings, stir-fries, marinades, and even as a seasoning for rice. It adds a flavorful kick to almost any recipe.Easy to Use: Simply dilute it with water according to your taste preference, and it’s ready to go. It saves time without compromising on flavor.Good Value: A little goes a long way, so one bottle lasts quite a while, making it economical.Cons:High Sodium Content: Like many soup bases, it is a bit high in sodium. I sometimes dilute it more than recommended or balance it with low-sodium ingredients.Overall Impression:This product is great for soups and dumplings, and it consistently delivers delicious results. Whether you’re an experienced cook or just starting out, Kikkoman’s Japanese Noodle Soup Base is an excellent addition to your kitchen. It simplifies meal preparation while elevating the taste of your dishes. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to bring authentic Japanese flavors into their home cooking!

Your Japanese soups will never be the same after this!!!! I am quite literally obsessed with this soup base and I add it to e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! It is full of umami and it adds a ton of body to all japanese soups and ramen! Worth the money and lasts a very long time as all you need is about a tablespoon per batch of soup.

I work in healthcare and really like making to go mason jar noodle lunches. It tastes great , it only takes a little with some noodles and fresh vegetables, a protein. Just add hot water and you get a very cost effective and tasty meal.

The instructions are on the back of the bottle. All you have to do is follow them. I decided to try it for the first time with some udon noodles. I put the noodles in the bowl I mixed it with water according to the directions, heated it in the microwave and poured it over. I added a few shrimp, some mushrooms and a pinch of Wakami and I had the best bowl of udon noodles I think I’ve ever eaten.

Couldn’t find this product at local grocery food stores (it was too “niche” for the grocery stores that have Asian sections and the brand was too Americanized for the large Asian grocery store in town) so tried to find it online. Amazon offered the best price and free shipping. Bonus: it also arrived the next day.

It’s very concentrated so you have to be careful with it. It has a handy chart that tells you how water to dilute it with to make dipping sauce

I bought this because everything I used to make sushi rice just didn’t taste quite right. I decided to try this and see if this would help. Well, PERFECTION! The best sushi rice I have ever made! The flavor is not overwhelmingly vinegary and it’s got just a touch of umami. But I didn’t stop there. I made an Asian chicken salad and decided to use it instead of the usual dressing I use and it was delicious. So I thought what the h*ll and marinated some boneless skinless chicken thighs in it and fried them up with some left over sushi rice added some snow peas and lord it was good. Raves all around in my house hold (except one, he’s picky as all get out)!

A good tasting way to take a short cut in the kitchen when time isn’t your friend. When I don’t have the time it takes to cook up a good stock / broth for things like noodle soup, oden & even a dipping sauce I like using this stuff. Concentrated so it goes a long way.

I expected like a Miso soup base. But it’s all fish. So at first I returned it. They told me to keep it. I read it was designed to dip cold noodles into the cold fish sauce. Then I tried it cold with different Asian appetizers and now I love it! I will be a repeat buyer soon.

After reading the reviews, I decided to try. OMG. Made a simple noodle dish and was blown away by the complex flavor of this product. It doesn’t take a lot of the base to make a satisfying bowl. This is my go-to product when I want to eat a quick meal. I’ll come back to buy more when the bottle is empty. LOL

Great Japanese soup base.

I was skeptical as to the flavor profile of this concentrate. But after diluting it into a soup base for our udon noodles, I was hooked. The flavor is so reminicent of those packaged udon/soup combos, but it’s even better than what I remembered. It isn’t a substitute for the real deal, but it’s pretty close.

Makes a very savory and tasty broth. Can’t wait to use it to dip tempura, so good!

I use this soup base to cook whole snap beans. Cover the bottom of a pan with soup base, throw in a slices onions, whole snap beans, a little minced garlic, maybe some sliced celery, sliced mushrooms. bring to a simmer, cover with pan top. cut the heat off and its ready in about 5 minutes. Enjoy
